This is great! Jed’s unsolicited music video for the band Grandaddy, entirely done on an Apple ][+ has just made me realize how much I miss BASIC and my old Apple ][c. Ahhhh … this brings me back to the days when life/software/hardware/computing was so much more simple.
Wow, I was just taken back 21 years to my first computer literacy course. We split the semester between IBM, Apple IIe and c, and Commodores. It’s amazing to think of what computers were like then compared to my iMac G4 that I’m working on at this very moment.
But Alec, I really didn’t need to be reminded that that was 21 years ago.
Ahh memories…
I did basic too. On a TRS-80 in the late seventies with my Dad. Soon after that we put together our first Apple. I still remember buying parts (from Radioshack) and soldering chips and transistors to the bare motherboard.
I remember playing many two-word text adventure games on the TRS-80. “go north”, “get key”, “unlock chest”, “get ring”….oh those were the days. :-)
