Alec,
This is one of the most quotable quotes I've come across in a long time:

Let us forget the term “technical support” and focus on “innovation support”.

It moves us from 'integrating technology' to 'engaging learners', and from 'keeping up' to 'leading the way'. Thank you!

Alec, there is a balance in your post, but I must respond to "If a school division cannot (for instance) get Macs to play nice with a Windows network, your technicians are not doing their job, or they need to go back to training." Integration of MAC and Windows IS rocket science most days, and the two players do not always want to play nice together. I personally know of a problem that Apple itself is currently working to fix in Leopard - local technicians are not to blame!
Let's keep IT and ET working together to create a balanced approach. Perhaps innovation support can be the rallying cry.
p.s. I know the gentleman - he apologized to Dean after the session as he left to take a phone call. He knew the timing was problematic.....

Hi Alec,
I'm going to switch hats for a minute and ask you about the Community Based Masters program that you are teaching in La Ronge. I am involved the family literacy field and involved with the Saskatchewan Literacy Network. We are always interested in adult education initiatives that are in the province. Could you tell me more about it? I noticed it wasn't linked so I'm assuming that not much is published on it with the exception of the Sask Campus posting.

Thanks so much.

Hello Alec, I'd like to take you up on your offer of a guest password for your ECMP 355 course. I'm trying to see how to better utilize Moodle and would really like to see some examples of courses in action. Thanks!
