Understanding Open Source is a new resource that introduces teachers to the open source movement, provides links to key articles in the field, gives an overview of the open source philosophy and describes some of the most important open source tools that can be used in the classroom.

The resource is a work in progress, but there’s already a lot of useful introductory information (thanks Dan). If anyone would like to contribute to the resource, or believes there are some glaring omissions, please contact me or comment.
