200 Years That Change the World (Hans Rosling)

In this video, Hans Rosling demonstrates GapMinder, a tool for “unveiling the beauty of statistics”. The content for the brief video is the change in the life expectancy & income throughout the world in the last two centuries. Gapminder looks like a really neat tool, and the trends described through the tool are interesting.

If you would like to play with the simulation used in this video, go to http://www.gapminder.org/world. If you want to see more of Hans Rosling, check out his TED Talk.

    Hello there,

Sorry I messaging you here instead of at an email. I did not see one…

MIT university is trying to build a free resource to help kids learn SAT/ACT thru the power of user-generated images and video. We are currently running a nationwide contest, challenging kids to make fun and memorable flashcards by pairing sentences and images to a common test word. There will be a small cash prize and iTunes giveaways. Due date is May 22. More details at brainyflix.com/main/contest_rules .

Do you have students or colleagues who would be interested? No pressure if this is not something that interests you. I just want to give you guys the chance to participate.

    -Jack
