Apple Moves to Intel Chips

Yup, the rumours are true.
I’ve been keeping away from this story, mostly because of disappointment and denial, but yeah, it has been officially announced that Apple Computer is undergoing a major platform change and will now use Intel chips in new hardware by the end of 2007. I am not sure what this means for the future of Apple, but it will be an interesting transition.

    For 15 years, Mac users have seen Intel as one half of the ‘Axis of Evil’ (WinTel). I’m sure it makes good business sense, and initial reports suggest that Macs will still be Macs (running Mac OS X), and not another PC clone, but ….
