I caught word of this disturbing U.N. landmine advertisement featured on Joi Ito’s Web (thanks Dan). I don’t want to spoil the experience for you so I won’t give explicit details, but take a glance at what CNN and other networks (reportedly) are reluctant to air.

Very effective ad, but who is FOR landmines. It is unfortunate that this has turned into another anti-US rant. We reserve the right to use any method and weapon to maintain freedom, or some semblance of it. Were this a campaign to eliminate terrorist use of explosives to kill women and children, as well as other civilians, i would be all for it. But it is not. Terrorist Moslems and Communists, as well as some un-Christian Christians strew these things willy nilly, and then left them for the ensuing civilian populations.
Want to campaign to get help cleaning what is out there up? I’m all for that. The ad? Again, very effective.
